Booking the Hamilton Police Pipe Band or Members

The Hamilton Police Pipe Band competes at highland games competitions throughout much of the summer, but also performs at selected community and private functions.

The band charges a fee for its non-competition appearances, the money used to offset the costs of running and equipping the organization. The band is sponsored in part by the Hamilton Police Service, but it uses appearance fees, sales of T-shirts and fundraising events to take some of the financial burden off its members.

Kilts cost in excess of $500 each, while the full military dress uniform worn by band members at events such as the Hamilton Tattoo cost as much as $3,000 head to toe.

The band has three competition groups and all three are raising funds to travel to Scotland and compete at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in August 2009.

The band has appeared at several large community parades, gatherings and even at Hamilton TigerCat professional football games.

Weddings, memorial services and fundraising dinners often see a piper playing appropriate tunes. The band can put organizers in touch with pipers and drummers who are available for individual hire.
